Male Fertility with Acupuncture
Male Fertility Support with Acupuncture in the Cotswolds
Trying for a baby can be an emotional rollercoaster, especially when it’s taking longer than you hoped. Male fertility is often brushed over, but it’s half the picture - and there’s a lot you can do to support it.
Acupuncture offers a natural way to support sperm health, hormones and stress, and to help you feel like you’re actively doing something useful in the process.
I work with men from Swindon, Lechlade and across the Cotswolds who want to play a real part in their fertility journey, rather than feeling stuck on the sidelines.
How acupuncture can help male fertility
When I’m working with male fertility, there are a few key areas I look at:
-
Sperm quality
Things like count, motility (how well they swim) and morphology (shape). Acupuncture, alongside lifestyle changes, can support blood flow to the testicles and overall sperm health. -
Hormonal balance
Chronic stress, poor sleep and overwork can knock hormones out of balance. Acupuncture helps calm the stress response and support the systems involved in testosterone and fertility. -
Stress, anxiety and sleep
Trying to conceive can be mentally exhausting. Acupuncture helps switch the nervous system out of “fight or flight” and into a calmer, more restful state, which benefits both mind and body. -
Blood flow and circulation
Good circulation in the pelvic area is important for sperm production and overall reproductive health. Acupuncture can gently support this. -
General wellbeing
Energy, digestion, immunity, mood - it’s all connected. When your body is working better overall, fertility often improves too.
Acupuncture isn’t a magic cure, but it can be a powerful part of a joined-up plan alongside medical care, nutrition, exercise and healthy habits.

What to expect from a Male Fertility Appointment
1. We talk through your situation
This can include semen analysis results (if you have them), medical history, work patterns, stress levels, sleep, exercise and lifestyle.
2. A clear plan
I’ll outline how acupuncture could help in your case, how often it makes sense to come in, and over what sort of timeframe we’d review progress.
3. A calm, tailored treatment
I use fine needles on carefully chosen points to support circulation, hormonal balance and nervous system regulation. Most people find it surprisingly relaxing.
4. Practical, realistic advice
Where it’s helpful, I’ll share simple changes you can make at home to support the process – nothing extreme or unmanageable.
FAQs - Male Fertility & Acupuncture

Do I need a semen analysis before I come?
It’s useful if you’ve had one done, but it’s not essential to get started. If you haven’t had tests yet, we can talk about how to approach that with your GP or fertility clinic.
How many sessions will I need?
Sperm development takes around three months, so I usually suggest working together over that kind of timeframe, then reviewing how you’re doing.
Can acupuncture “fix” infertility?
Acupuncture can’t promise a cure and it doesn’t replace medical investigation. Think of it as supportive care: helping to improve sperm health, reduce stress and support your body to function at its best.
Is treatment painful or embarrassing?
No. The needles are very fine, and most of the points I use are on the arms, legs and torso. You’ll be covered and comfortable throughout, and everything is explained beforehand.
Can I come by myself, or should we come as a couple?
You’re welcome either way. Some men choose to come alone, others come because their partner is already having acupuncture and they want to contribute their side too.
